Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This policy explains how Ideas4Business (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit ideas4business.com or use our assessment, account, waitlist, and beta feedback features.

1. Information we collect

The information we handle depends on the features you choose to use:

  • Account and sign-in information: Your email address, account identifier, and basic profile details returned by the sign-in method you choose. If you choose LinkedIn sign-in, we may receive basic profile information such as your name and profile image, and email if LinkedIn provides it. LinkedIn sign-in does not give us your full work history.
  • Assessment information: Your answers, founder profile signals, and generated business matches. While you complete an assessment, your progress is kept in browser session storage. If you are signed in, we save assessment answers and results to your account so you can resume them.
  • Resume information: If you upload a PDF, DOCX, or TXT resume, our server extracts text and derives skills and experience signals to prefill the assessment. The file is processed for that request and is not saved as a resume file or sent to a third-party AI service. You review the extracted profile before continuing.
  • Waitlist information: Your email address, the membership plan you are interested in, and an optional account identifier.
  • Feedback information: Your message, feedback category, optional rating, optional email, optional account identifier, and the page address associated with the feedback.
  • Basic product experiment information: A random browser identifier, which version of a homepage experiment you saw, related interaction events, and the page where the event occurred. We use this to understand whether product changes are useful.
  • Technical information: Our hosting and authentication providers may process technical request and security information, such as device, browser, IP address, and operational logs, to deliver and protect the service.

2. How we use information

  • Provide sign-in, saved assessments, profile review, matching, and dashboard features.
  • Process a resume you choose to upload and prefill relevant assessment answers.
  • Send early-access updates to people who join the waitlist.
  • Read and respond to feedback and privacy requests.
  • Understand product usage, improve assessment quality, debug issues, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information with service providers only as needed to run Ideas4Business, including Supabase for authentication and database services and Vercel for hosting and delivery. If you choose a third-party sign-in option, that provider processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect users, the service, or our legal rights.

4. Browser storage

Ideas4Business uses browser local storage and session storage for authentication, assessment progress, and a random identifier used in basic product experiments. You can clear browser storage through your browser settings, though doing so may sign you out or remove unsaved guest progress.

5. Retention and security

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, operate the beta, respond to requests, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Saved assessments remain associated with your account until deleted or until you ask us to remove them. Waitlist and feedback information is kept while needed for those purposes. We use service providers and reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

6. Your choices and privacy requests

You can take the assessment without connecting LinkedIn, choose not to upload a resume, and leave the waitlist or feedback form unused. Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. To ask a privacy question or make a request, open the “Give beta feedback” control available on the site, choose “Privacy question or request,” and include an email address if you want us to reply. We may ask for reasonable information to verify a request.

7. Children

Ideas4Business is intended for people exploring business opportunities and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. International visitors

Ideas4Business and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your location.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product or its data practices change. We will post the latest version on this page and update the effective date.
